Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced a new process for Supreme Court of Canada appointments. I’m pleased to say that I had a hand in assisting the government on this, providing a draft of the list of qualifications and the questionnaire that, for the first time, all candidates will be required to complete. For the most part the response has been positive, although some are concerned that the tradition of regional appointments may be abandoned (too early to tell, in my opinion).
