Newest Supreme Court appointment: Malcolm Rowe

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made his first appointment (not yet sworn in) to the Supreme Court of Canada: Justice Malcolm Rowe of the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal.  The appointment is historic – it it is the first from the province since it joined Confederation in 1949.  It also was the culmination a new appointment process whereby candidates were required to fill out a questionnaire (that I helped to design), that was released to the public.

I did two interviews, one with Power Play, and one with CBC Ottawa Morning and was cited in numerous print reports.

As of the time of this post (October 24), the Minister of Justice is scheduled to appear before a Parliamentary committee, and Rowe himself to be questioned at an event at the University of Ottawa.  I will be in London, but will look forward to the post-facto reports.
